MICKEY MACABRE

Mickey worked at the docks down at pier thirteen
The best darn dockhand you’ve ever seen

In the evenings he played his trusty trombone
At a pub near the docks called McGilley & Roan

One night as he walked to his home ‘cross the pier
He stumbled and staggered for he drank too much beer

As he fell he dropped his trombone right into the bay
Then he did something quite stupid, some people say

He dove into the water to save what was most dear to him
But the problem was poor Mickey never learned how to swim
